We all at times doubt the existence or the goodness of God. This should lead us to understand that doubt is normal and even acceptable.
But what is clearly not normal or acceptable is that we should allow our doubt to keep us from seeking the truth of God. Since all humans have also had at times an innate realization of the essential truth of the existence and the ultimate goodness of God, then any doubt we have should lead us to seek Him all the more.
To not set our hearts and minds on seeking God with every ounce of our being shouldn’t be seen as the result of doubt, but of pride, laziness, or stubbornness. Our doubt, then, should lead us to a never ceasing desire to know and understand God.
