Many believers desire to have a deeper, mystical connection to Christ. Some attend prayer, healing, or charismatic conferences looking for something that has already been made available to them by God. But, these honest searchers for divine connection often slide down a slippery slope of emotionalism and false piety.
The mystical and deeper life in Christ can be obtained most readily through a daily and right meditation on the Holy Scriptures, a quiet and regular (rhythmic) prayer life, a faithful partaking of the Blessed Sacrament, and serving those who Jesus called “the least of these.” This four-fold devotion is the way God has shown us to be in mystical communion with Christ, the Word made flesh.
