Change Your World

change-your-worldOur individual responsibility is not to change the world, but to change our own world, to open ourselves to God to transform our inner selves into Christ. Then we will act more authentically in the world. Then we can become transformative agents in the world.  Then we can participate in God’s ongoing evolutionary work in bringing heaven to earth.

Right on man. I was just talking about this very thing a couple of days ago. Why the people of this world constantly want to abdicate their responsibility to “strong leaders” for guidance and change while simultaneously doing little to nothing in their own personal lives amazes me.

Thanks! I mention you in my upcoming book which is in the hands of eight readers now. I’ll let you know when it comes out. Here’s what I said in the chapter entitled “The Commonweal of Love” under the heading The Golden Rule:

“Finally, Jesus said, as the Sermon on the Mount closes, “Do to others what you want done for yourself. This is all the law one needs” (Mt 7:12). This volume you are reading now may be small in size and scope, but it could be even smaller still. One of my blogosphere comrades, Anti-Sophist, said, true to his pen name, that Christian anarchy could be summed up in the Golden Rule. Anything beyond the Golden Rule is simply Midrash, as the Rabbi’s call it.”
